![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Unreal Live Link Plug-in for iClone innovates content for Unreal and removes the tedious FBX file import/export process seamlessly sending iClone characters to Unreal with automated character shaders and skeleton setup. iClone and Unreal Engine users benefit from the collaboration between Reallusion and Epic Games through this dedicated character creation and animation workflow that delivers digital humans to Unreal Engine. The iClone Unreal Live Link Plug-in transfers, links and animates characters, lights, and cameras from iClone directly into Unreal Engine. Transform characters into an array of different styles and looks, Reallusion keeps pushing the limits by adding a GoZ workflow, a 3D scan pipeline, as well as a new shader technology to Character Creator meeting the demand for professional characters. “Another benefit,” adds Epic Games, “is that the animation data is clean the control curves are semantically correct, that is, they are where you would expect them to be on the facial rig controls-just as they would be if they had been created by a human animator-making them easy to adjust if required for artistic purposes. The visual progress of realtime engines is ever-increasing the bar for characters, and the request for digital human realism is following the trend. The result, according to Epic Games is “that every subtle expression is accurately recreated on your Metahuman target character, regardless of the differences between the actor and the Metahuman’s features.” This Metahuman Identity is then used to interpret the live performance and how that should be related to the target cg character. The mesh can be built in a few minutes using just three photos, and need be done only once for each performer. Metahuman Animator starts by creating a “Metahuman Identity,” which is a 3d mesh of the live performer’s topology.Facial performance can be reproduced from a capture made on an iPhone (11 or later) with tripod or stereo helmet-mounted cameras. ![]()
